Bond's Providence Logbook Dec 7, 1792

Remarks &c Friday 7th December 1792

 1 pm: Fresh breezes and fine weather saw Porpoises and Pintada birds

 4 pm: Cloudy – worked the Pumps as usual.

 8 pm: A few drops of rain.

11 pm: Shortened sail for the Assistant.

12 mid: Fresh gales and cloudy weather – made more sail – Porpoises about the ship.

 4 am: Sat the Lower steering sails. Saw an Albatross.

 8 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast. In steering sails, for the Brig. Clean swept below and aired with fires. Hoisted the whale bosat on the skids, at ye Gunnel. Sailmakers repairing ye old Main Top Sail & Carpenters painting and caulking the Quarter Deck &c. Seamen scraping the upper works – Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner.

12 noon: Fresh gales and fine weather with haze. The Assistant ½ a mile astern.
