1 pm: Moderate breezes and fair weather – opened a Cask of Pork containing 120 Double pieces – and broached a puncheon of Spruce Beer for the people in lieu of Wine

 5 pm: Saw some Albatrosses and Sheerwaters. Let water into the ship as usual and made the young Midshipmen pump it out in parts

 7 pm: In 1st reef Topsails

 8 pm: Moderate breezes and fair weather

11 pm: At 11 O'Clock a Meteor resembling a large ball of Fire, fell not far distant from the ship in the SW quarter, and illumined the whole Atmosphere for several seconds.

12 mid: Light airs and cloudy weather

 5 am: Light breezes and cloudy – made all sail

 8 am: Light Airs

 9 am: Shifted the Fore & Main Top Sails, bending the old ones. – Mustered the ships company in Divisions and had Divine Service performed – Served Krout and Sweet Wort with Borecole in the Pease for Dinner
