1 pm: Fresh breezes and fair weather several pieces of rock weed passed the ship during the after noon – Albatrosses, Sheerwaters & 4 Cape Hens flying round the ship

 4 pm: Sailmakers employed repairing the old Main Top Sail

 6 pm: Fresh gales and cloudy weather in steering sails & furled the Main Sail

 8 pm: Gale increasing, in 3rd reefs A fire all night to air the ship

11 pm: Strong gales and misty weather In 4th reefs and furled Mizen Top Sail – Fore sail in the Brails

 4 am: reefed the Fore sail

 6 am: Handed Fore Top Sail and got down Top Gallant Yards – Gales increased with thick misty weather

 8 am: Hard gale with thick weather – Served the usual Breakfast to the people – Sweet Wort at [10 of 4?] and as usual on this day Portable Soup thickened with Oatmeal & Bore Cole for Dinner Cleaned below & dryed with fires – Bent the storm staysails – Saw many seals, but no birds but Albatrosses & Petterals

12 noon: At Noon a hard gale & thick misty weather The Assistant in company under close reefed Main Top Sail & Fore sail & we under close reefed Main Topsail & Fore in the Brails – Served Vinegar as customary on this day
