Bond's Providence Logbook Mar 2, 1792

Remarks &c towards Otaheite 2nd March 1792

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fair weather saw a number of Porpoises.

 4 pm: Large flocks of Albatrosses on the water Sheerwaters and blue Petterals.

 6 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual

 8 pm: A heavy Dew falling and a fine night – all sail set during the night

12 mid: Dark Cloudy weather

 4 am: Hazy weather

 7 am: Saw a Seal and some rock weed – Served the usual Breakfast

 8 am: Thick haze and Fog shortened sail for the Assistant. – Cleaned below and aired with fires. Served Krout & Wort with Borecole in the Pease for Dinner – Saw Whales, Albatrosses, Porpoises, Silver birds, Divers, a Cape Hen, & many pieces of rock weed. Served Tobacco to the people.

12 noon: Moderate breezes and cloudy, Sailmakers & Carpenters respectively employed
   Latitude Observed 49°:32′ South
