Bond's Providence Logbook Sep 17, 1791

Remarks &c Saturday 17th September 1791

 1 pm: Cloudy with rain at times

 3 pm: A breeze sprung up from the SW – filled Puncheon of rain water

 6 pm: Fresh breezes with very dark cloudy weather

 8 pm: Rainy weather in 2nd. reef Top Sails.

10 pm: Backed the Mizen Top Sail for the Brig to come up.

 1 am: Moderate and close [?]

 2 am: Out 2nd reef Main Top Sail and set ye Fore Top Gallant sail

 5 am: Small rain

 6 am: Fair weather out 2nd. reef Fore Top Sails and set Fore Top Mast Steering sails

 9 am: Squally with heavy rain; down Fore Top Mast Studding sail

10 am: Clewed down the Top Sails – Served Vinegar to the ships company. Cleaned below, & got up all wet Clothes to dry. Aired with Fires – Filled this morning 2 Puncheons of rain water.

12 noon: At Noon Light airs and fair: the Assistant in company
   Latitude Observed: 9°30′ North
