Providence Logbook Jul 25, 1793

Remarks Thursday 25th July 1793 Towards England

 1 pm: Light Breezes and fair Weather. Bent the best Top Sails and Fore Sail. Sent the Cutter for Lieut. Portlock to dine with me

 3 pm: Saw Some Fish.

 4 pm: Exercised Great Guns. Let fresh Water into the Ship and Worked the Pumps as usual

12 mid: Gunners Employed in the Magazine.

 4 am: Fine Weather

 7 am: Hot Breakfast of thick Portable Soup Gruel as usual.

 9 am: Washed and Cleaned Ship and Aired with Fires.

10 am: Employed Painting the Pinnace and Cutter. Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer

12 noon: Very fine Weather. Assistant Packet and Guinea Men in Company. Obliged to wait for the Packet.
