Providence Logbook Aug 18, 1792

Remarks Saturday 18th August 1792

 1 pm: Strong Breezes and very Cloudy Weather

 2 pm: Exercised Small Arms.

 5 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual. Spoke the Assistant, informed Lieut. Portlock that I should haul the Wind at 8 OClock. In 2nd Reefs.

 8 pm: Fine Night. Hauled the Wind

12 mid: Wore Ship and made the Signal to the Assistant.

 5 am: Dark Cloudy Weather

 7 am: Saw Flying Fish and some Tropic Birds. Served a Hot Breakfast as usual. Bore Cole in the Pease for Dinner.

 9 am: Opened Cask of Pork No. 16 Contents 120 Double Pieces

12 noon: Sun came suddenly our and very fine Weather. Employed Mending and Washing Clothes.
