Remarks Monday 28th May 1792 In Matavai Bay

During the Morning frequent hard Rain which about Noon began to clear up and remained fair with very Strong Winds from the WSW at Night and Moderate Westerly Winds the other parts of the Day. Thermometer from 78½ to 80 Degrees.

Employed at the Forge, Carpenters at the Launch, Sailmakers about the Main Top Sail.

We have sufficient supplies of Pork, Cocoa Nutts, Plantains, Vees, Terra [tarro?] and Mahie, but Breadfruit not to be got except a few heads which are brought from the Country.

Accounts were brought to Iddeeah and Tynah that their Daughter Tahamydooah was dead, they cared very little about it, particularly Tynah, but Iddeeah at last shed a few tears. The people who had the care of the Child had been at Papparah with it to see some Heivahs, it there caught a violent cold which terminated in a Fever, and died in the way back to the Parents.
