& some dryed pieces of Callypees of Turtle. I might perhaps have got some trifles else but as it was clear to me that such an elligible Place for shipping would have some settlement I relyed on the Mellay & went on. – The Party found the a family or two of Mellays – The Women curtseyd & all shewed every sign of having connection with Europeans. — We kept the Eastern side of the bay on board to the NE & ENE – Making a true NEbE course nearly I believe dist about 8 Miles to w[h]ere we anchor at 10 PM The sea was here open to the northd. & NW & I found I was here at the north Entrance of this Spacious Harbour. While I lay in the south entrance the Ebb Tide run from the Northd.
