to see plainer when they evidently appered as Islds- The southt. the highest & as far as 9 or 10 leags. – I therefore stood back to bay that promised shelter & every one was solicitous & Clamerous to get into, to get food, particularly the Master. I found Sheltered from the SE only much surf on the shore & after all no one would attempt to land I therefore sailed westd. again & determined not to stop untill under the Lee of the Isld- or see some Dwelling — Lost my observation being too near the shore – The Country appeared pretty with Lawns & Parks but we found them natural we however saw smokes which I considered to be Malays clearing Ground up the Valleys. — Since on the Coast I have observed places on the shore like high roads leading into the Country from the sea side. —— Those are said to be Rivers
