After seeing the Reef I kept now in shore to the SSW; SW & W^s- Came into shoal water. Several Sandy Banks breaking. Stood round them to the North^d. & steered WbS. At 4 another Key appeared West - I computed the Mean Course from the bear^gs. of the Land as far a[s] 4 oClock. — Steered for the Key & found it a barren Rock & bold to. Having fair Sea I steered on WSW. not being able to steer across heavy seas, if the Wind comes south^ly. — Towards Morning found a high Sea run^g. at Noon Fair W^r. The Key is an entire Rock & the resort of Boobies – I therefore called it Booby Key
